fford "Bud" Lee Rubert, Sr. of Prineville died Thurs., Feb. 22, 2001 at his home. He was 70 years old.
He was born March 14, 1930 in Eatonville, Wash., to Harry and Margaret (Kreger) Rubert. He graduated from Eatonville High School in 1948. He married Irene Areias in 1972 in Anchorage, Alaska. The couple moved to Prineville from Redmond in 1995. He supervised the building of power lines in California, Washington, Alaska and Oregon, retiring in 1993.
He was a member of the IBEW 1547 in Anchorage, the Elks Lodge in Petersburg Ala., the Moose Lodge in Palmer, and the Eagles Lodge 2255 in Prineville. Mr. Rubert enjoyed traveling, woodworking and making cabinets, fishing and hunting.
Mr. Rubert is survived by his wife Irene Rubert of Prineville; sons, Phillip Rubert of Puyallup, Wash., and Clifford Lee Rubert, Jr. of Puyallup, Wash.; brother, C.H. Rubert of Spanaway, Wash.; sister, Joan Vormestramd of Mossy Rock, Wash.; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six nieces and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to Pioneer Memorial Hospice, 1201 NE Elm, or to the charity of one's choice.
A memorial gathering will take place Sat., March 10 at the Prineville Eagles Lodge from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Cremation was held at the Prineville Heritage Crematory under the direction of Prineville Funeral Home.
