He was born April 14, 1918 in Redmond to Samuel and Della (Osburn) Ritter. The family lived for many years in Powell Butte where he attended school. He graduated from high school in Redmond. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII returning to Powell Butte afterward.
He married Caroline Schmeiser in Oregon City and they lived in Powell Butte until 1948 when they moved to Oregon City. He farmed Christmas Trees and was a carpenter. When he retired they moved to Canby.
Survivors include his wife Caroline at the family home; son, Milton; daughter Rita and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents one daughter and one son.
Memorial services will be held Sat., March 10 at Zion Lutheran Church in Oregon City beginning at 10:30 a.m. Private interment will take place at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hillside Chapel of Oregon City. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Foundation or the charity of ones' choice
