rleen Pierce of Prineville died on Friday, March 23 at her home. She was 66 years old.
She was born May 10, 1934 in Bend to Lavoy and Ruth (Ferris) Swanson. She was raised on a ranch near Ashwood and she attended The Dallas High School, graduating in 1952.
She attended one year of college at the Linfield College. She worked for the Dept. of Agriculture in the Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service from 1954 to 1965 in Madras and Prineville. She also worked for the U.S. forest Service as a Fire Management Officer.
She moved to Prineville in 1959 and married Gary D. Pierce in 1960. They owned and operated Gary's Custom Butchering in Terrebonne from 1991 to 1998.
Mrs. Pierce was a member of the First Baptist Church in Prineville. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting, gardening, rock hunting and socializing.
She is survived by her husband Gary Pierce; sons, Donald Wayne Pierce of Glenallen, Alaska and Dale C. Pierce of Enterprise; sisters, Helen Lapp of Beaverton and Linda Bierly of Salem; four grandchildren and one niece and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents.
At her request no public services will be held.
Cremation was held at the Prineville Heritage Crematory under the direction of the Prineville Funeral Home.
