garet Ellen (Sumner) Quant, a lifelong resident and pioneer of Crook County died January 13, 2001 in her home. She was 77 years old.
She was born Dec. 10, 1923 to Roy and Jessie Sumner. She attended school in Crook County graduating in 1942. She married Shirley (Shirts) Quant that same year and they raised four children.
She was a member of TOPS, the Lions Club and the American Legion. She enjoyed bowling, reading, crocheting and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband Shirley (Shirts) Quant; son, William Quant; daughters, Lucy Woodward, Teresa Quant and Marcia Gascon of Prineville; brother, Lee Sumner of Eugene; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her mother and two sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the charity of one's choice.
Memorial services will be held on Sat., April 7 at 10 a.m. at the Latter Day Saints Church in Prineville.
