   In honor of National Library Week Crook County Library will accept food for fines with one item of food equal to $1 off your library card. Enter to win a bag of books, drawing on April 7, or sign up for internet classes held each day this week from 9 to 10 a.m. For more information call 447-7978.

   Tuesday April 3

   AARP will meet at the Senior Center following lunch at 12:45 p.m. Speaker will be Capt. T. Pinkston of the Prineville Police Department. Subject is mail and telephone solicitation.

   Crook County Health Dept. will host their second annual Wellness Walk from noon to 1 p.m. to celebrate public health week. Participants will meet at the Health Dept. at 11:55 a.m. and depart at 12:05 p.m. for a walk around Prineville. The group will return at 12:50 p.m.

   The Crook County Health Dept. will host an Open House from 1 to 4 p.m. Refreshments will be available. Everyone is welcome to drop in and learn more about the services that are offered at the Health Department.

   Crook County Library hosts Storytime for children starting at 6:30 p.m. This week features star stories and puppet play. One day only.

   The Sage Hens and Grousers Garden Club will meet at 7 p.m. at the library. The program will be planting for central Oregon. For more information call 447-5549.

   April 7

   The Christian Churches of Prineville will again combine their musical talents for the third annual Spring Gospel Music Festival. The concert will be held at the First Baptist Church at 7 p.m. There is no admission charge and everyone is welcome. For more information call 447-5060.

   The second annual Week of the Young Child Carnival will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Crooked River Elementary School. Lots of games, booths, crafts and fun are on tap for the day. Tickets are 5/$1 or 25 cents each. For more information call 447-3260.

   The Oregon Old Time Fiddlers Show will be held at the VFW Hall on Sisters Ave. in Redmond from 1:30 to 4 p.m. All ages are welcome and donations will be accepted. For more information call 447-5451.

   Fifth Biennial Quilt Show will take place at Jefferson County Library, Madras, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Door prizes given away every hour. Sponsored by the "Country Quilters" quilt guild.

   Prineville's very own theater company, The Ochoco Players is back. They will hold auditions for MACBETH at 7:30 p.m. in the Juniper Room of the Crook County Library. The production is planned for July and anyone interested in either acting or working backstage is welcome. For more information call 447-3710.
