> The Rotary Club of Prineville/Crook County extends thanks and appreciation to the individuals and businesses that so generously contributed to the club's "Dollars for Scholars: fundraiser.
"Dollars for Scholars" is held annually, usually on April Fool's Day (this year on April 2) at the local AM radio station.
The club particularly acknowledges the efforts of Keith Shipman, president of Horizon Broadcasting Group, for making the station available and Kelley Edwards and Jim Murphy at KRCO for providing technical assistance throughout the day.
Rotary would also like to thank all the listeners who endured the antics of local Rotarians and their friends, posing as not-so-accomplished DJ's and who tolerated displacement of the normal country music by other formats and the day's antics.
In exchange for your patience and with the help of incredible community support, the Crook County Rotary Club was able to raise $6,100 as a result of this event.
All of the proceeds will be used to benefit Crook County High School students in the form of scholarships.
