Along with Marie Johnson and Marvin Kelso, shown here, about two dozen people turned out Saturday to help spring clean the Wildland Firefighters Monument in Ochoco Creek Park. All those on the cleanup crew were parents or relatives of the Hotshot crew the monument honors. Among the group were US Forest Service personnel and at least one school teacher and a handful of students from the Crook County Middle School. And this project wasn)t the only one going on in town last weekend. The second annual Day of Service "Mama Likes a Clean Community" event was held throughout Prineville Saturday. Organized by the Chamber of Commerce and the Quality of Life Commitee, 26 people representing 12 organizations turned out to help make the city a cleaner and brighter place. Areas that were included in the event were Third Street, Lynn Boulevard and Main Street.
