"The small business kiosk is a great visual aid for getting information on how to start or expand a small business," says Cati Thomas, community relations representative for Crook County Library.
Small businesses are run by about 25 million people across American who own and operate their own enterprise. From solo entrepreneurs to companies with hundreds of employees, helping small businesses get started is the goal of the U.S. Small Businesses Administration.
"The kiosk also provides a place to pick up resource guides on where to find help and information on starting and financing a small business, and the library also benefits because it can display books on the same subject. The library is now a one-stop shopping center on small business," Thomas said. "So far, over 25 guides have been taken showing that there is an interest in small and home-based businesses in Prineville and Crook County."
