New boat ramp not planned right

To the editor: Regarding the Ochoco Reservoir parking and boat ramp: I have spent 45 years of my life building sawmills, plywood mills, particleboard mills, and paper mills in 21 states. If we would have designed and built a mill as inadequate as the new facility at Ochoco Reservoir we would not have a wood industry today. Lets see now, to put my boat in its five time around a rock planter, two more turns to park. Then to take it out you must back up with your trailer, make three more turns to get back to the ramp and load your boat. And of course, this is one boat at a time. If we are lucky, we might get back to the highway. Oh well, maybe the fish will bite anyway! Tom and Margie Kern Prineville.
