   Crook County Library hosts the last in a series of special events focused on astronomy. Participants will be able to view the moon and other early sky objects through telescopes and binoculars. The class starts at 9 p.m.

   The Prineville County Quilt Show will be held at the Crook County High School today and tomorrow. A collection of quilts and family heirlooms will be showcased and quilts will be raffled and sold along with a variety of other gift items. Those wishing to participate may pick up an entry form at Prairie Girls Quilt Shop, 970 NW Third St.

   The High Desert Trails and Poker Ride will take place at Dry Canyon, on Hwy 126 between Redmond and Sisters. Entries open at 9 a.m., first rider out at 10 a.m. and last out at 11:30 a.m. Over $100 in prizes will be award. Cost is $12 to enter, $7 Poker Rider and a $1 one-day club membership for non-members.

   Mothers Against Drunk Drivers will hold a volunteer training at the Crook County Library from 9 to 11 a.m. Volunteers are trained in all aspects of advocacy, support and for taking court statistics. To register call 416-8047.

This event is to celebrate and preserve the history, traditions, arts, crafts, skills and customs of the American Cowboy and Ranch Culture.
