Bernard Earl Menard

Bernard Earl Menard, a previous resident of Prineville, died April 24, 2001 in Molikai, Hawaii. He was 80 years old.
   He was born March 24, 1921 in Green Bay, Wisconsin to William Earl and Sophia Menard.
   He attended school in Prineville and graduated from Crook County High School. He went to work at the Swan Island Shipyard and became a Merchant Marine during WWII. After the war he worked for Tex Tronic in Portland. He married Jean Gunther and the couple moved to Molikai when he retired.
   He is survived by his sisters Betty Jane Menard of Portland and Ione Allen of Madras; brother Sherman Menard of Lemon Grove, Calif. He was preceded in death by by his wife and parents.
   Graveside services are pending at the Juniper Haven Cemetery and will be announced at a later date. Cremation took place in Hawaii.
   Prineville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
