Frank Henry Land

Frank Henry Land, a longtime Prineville resident died Sat., June 9, 2001 at his home. He was 80 years old.
   He was born June 1, 1921 in Madisonville, Tenn., to John and Mary (Torbett) Land. He served in the US Army during WWII and was stationed in Italy and Germany. Following the war he went to college to study agriculture.
   He married Marie Picklesimer in 1949 in Georgia and she preceded him in death in 1965. The family moved to Burns in 1953. After the death of his first wife he remarried. In 1970 he moved to central Oregon, settling in Prineville.
   He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening, bowling and spending time with family.
   Mr. Land is survived by his sons Roger Land of Prineville, Rick Land of Bend and Robert Land of Bend; daughter, Teresa Crescenzi of Kirkland, Wash.; stepsons, Chuck James of Dayton, Wash., and George James of Mollalla; stepdaughters, Linda Roberts, Carol and Joanne of Corvallis; sister, Pearl Graves of Bend; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death by two children, his parents and nine siblings.
   Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Pioneer Memorial Hospice at 1201 NE Elm in Prineville.
   Memorial services will be held Thurs., June 14 at the Heritage Chapel of the Prineville Funeral Home at 11 a.m. George and Claire O'Cleary will officiate.
   Cremation will be held at the Prineville Heritage Crematory under the direction of the Prineville Funeral Home. Inurnment will be held at the Terrebonne Cemetery in Terrebonne.
   Arrangements are under the direction of the Prineville Funeral Home.
