Earlier this spring, the Prineville Police Department proudly presented new patrol cars, a Harley Davidson patrol motorcycle, complete with an officer trained in its use, and a bicycle patrol vehicle and its expert bicycle patrol officer. When these two Prineville Police officers, Lt. Eric Bush and Bicycle Patrol Officer JoAnn Bauer, were spotted on a downtown street the question had to be asked: Is this part of the department's summer patrol? or, does this reflect the department's effort to cut expenses in view of today's high gas prices? A third, and more likely option is that the two officers are simply getting ready for the coming 56th Annual Crooked River Roundup.
