Dana Saavedra

Dana Saavedra of Redmond, died Wed., July 25. She was 61 years old.
   She was born Jan. 13, 1940 to Shelly and Elva (Stracner) Heggie in Little Rock, Ark.
   She attended school in Richmond, California and married Raul Saavedra in 1979. She worked as a school bus driver and instructor until 1991 when they moved to Redmond where she worked as an Avon Representative.
   Her interests included camping, fishing, gardening, spending time outdoors and with family.
   Survivors include her husband, Raul Saavedra of Redmond; daughters, Cindy Janes of Redmond, Sandy Graham of Aptos, Calif., Theresa McCauley of Auburn, Calif., Patricia Gray of Prineville; son, Danny Shaw of Crooked River Ranch; mother, Elva Heggie of Mitchell; sister Verla Maxwell of Mitchell; brothers, Gwendle Heggie of Oroville, Calif., and Ray Heggie of Mitchell; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by her father, two brothers and one grandchild.
   Memorial donations may be made in her name to Raul Saavedra 6560 NW Homestead, Redmond, 97756.
   Funeral services were held July 28 in Prineville. Whispering Pines Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
