Last summer about this time, the water level at Ochoco Reservoir was near full; close to the base of the trees seen in the background. Now, with the heat of the waning summer season and the demands of irrigation usage, water levels have dropped to about 12,000 acre feet. That was enough, though, for people to enjoy the cool waters and escape the week-long hot spell. There is even enough water for some boaters, including this paddle-boater caught paddling his way to shore.
