>Residents of the southwest side of town may notice water flowing from neighborhood hydrants next week
Residents living in the southwest side of town can expect to find city crews flushing hydrants next week. Water Department personnel will begin flushing city water lines on Monday and expect to have the annual project completed by Friday, Sept. 28.
Those living south of Third Street and east of Fairview could experience some turbidity in their water for a day or two. Water Superintendent Eric Sather explained there may be a slight drop in water pressure during this time, too.
The purpose of the flushing is to clear sand from the water lines. Once in awhile the pumps in operation at the city)s wells will pick up a bit of sand and it gets distributed into the system.
The flushing will be done at various hydrants throughout the week. For information, contact city hall at 447-5627.
