Norma Elizabeth (Miller) O'Kelley

Norma Elizabeth (Miller) O'Kelley of Prineville, died Oct. 8, 2001 at Pioneer Memorial Hospital. She was 92 years old.
   She was born Dec. 5, 1908 in Paulina to Crook County homesteaders Grant and Christine (Cain) Miller.
   She married John R. O'Kelley on July 15, 1929 and they then moved to Prineville. Together they were the first curators of the Bowman Museum and were active in the Historical Society.
   She was a member of the Prineville Community Church and was Pioneer Queen of 1996.
   Her interests included cooking, sewing, gardening and she enjoyed belonging to a women's circle and Bible study group.
   Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen Stratton of Maupin; brother, Jim Miller of Prineville; sisters, Betty White of Eugene and Dorothy Hamilton of Mossy Rock, Wash.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by her husband and one son.
   Visitation will be held today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Prineville Funeral Home.
   Funeral services are scheduled for Fri., Oct. 12 at 1 p.m. at the Prineville Community Church. Pastor Willard Fenderson will officiate. Interment will follow at Juniper Haven Cemetery.
   Arrangements are under the direction of Prineville Funeral Home.
