mer Prineville resident Brian `Shane' Brown of Washington state died Fri., Oct. 5, 2001 in a motor vehicle accident in Washington. He was 25 years old.
He was born Aug. 13, 1976 in Bend to Michael Brown and Cathy Brock. He grew up and attended schools in Prineville, graduating in 1994. He attended Central Oregon Community College on a scholarship prior to attending Oregon State University where he graduated with a degree in Animal Science. At the time of his death he was in his third year of OSU Veterinary School in Pullman, Washington.
His interests included hunting, fishing, golfing, water skiing, snow skiing, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
He was a member of the American Assoc. of Equine Practice, Student Chapter of Veterinary Med. Assoc., Waltham Pet Food Rep., student board member of Oregon Vet. Medical Assoc. Agriculture Club. He was also active in helping Dr. Terry Olson in dentistry research.
Survivors include his mother Cathy Brock of Prineville; father, Michael Brown of Powell Butte; grandfather, Alvin Brown of Dayville; step-mother Shelly Brown Wilcox of Prineville; step-mother, Sheryl Rhoden of Prineville; step-father Pat Brock of Prineville; brothers, Sean Brown, Tanner Brown, Bodie Brown all of Prineville; step-brother, Erik Brock of Portland; sisters, Lindsay Brown of Prineville, Vicki Veirra of Hawaii; step-sister, Krista Brockwood of Portland; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother Maggie Brown and grandparents, Nick and Liz Rachor.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Shane Brown Memorial Fund in care of Western Bank, 550 E. Third St. in Prineville.
Funeral services will be held Thurs., Oct. 11 under the direction of Prineville Funeral Home.
