Robert Leon Carter

Robert Leon Carter of Prineville died Fri., Nov. 30 at his home. He was 75 years old.
   He was born June 13, 1926 in Garden City, Kansas to Franklin D. and Josephine L. (Cragin) Carter. He retired from the US Army in May of 1965.
   He moved to Prineville in 1971 and married Dorothy Wright in 1992 in Reno, Nev.
   He was a member of the VFW in Prineville and the Eagles Lodge.
   His interests included working on cars, traveling, music, dancing, camping, and attending sports events in support of his children and grandchildren.
   Survivors include his wife Dorothy Carter of Prineville; sons, Brent Carter of Prineville, Scott Carter of Honolulu, Hawaii, Barry Carter of Manhatten, Kan., and Don Carter of Topeka, Kan.; daughter, Judy Ann Pike of Newport, R.I.; brother, John L. Carter of Salem; sister, Marion Bell of Prineville; 29 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, eight nieces and 11 nephews.
   He was preceded in death by four siblings.
   Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Pioneer Memorial Hospice, 1201 N. Elm in Prineville or to the American Cancer Society, 2350 Oakmont Way, Suite 200, Eugene 97401.
   Memorial services will be held on Mon., Dec. 10 at 10 a.m. in the Heritage Chapel of Prineville Funeral Home.
