ty Q. Bishop, a Prineville resident, passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2004. She was 79 years old.
The funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at the Prineville Christian Church, Pastor Dan Parks and Dr. Wayne Dykstra officiated. Private interment was held at the Terrebonne Cemetery.
Mrs. Bishop was born on Aug. 28, 1924, in Harrisburg, Ore., the daughter of Cecil and Bessie (Dykstra) Quimby. She grew up and attended school in Halsey and Harrisburg, Ore. In 1943, at the age of 17, she married Elmer Anstine and to this union brought one son. Mrs. Bishop worked various jobs throughout her life.
On May 13, 1999, she married Harvey Bishop in Junction City, Ore. The couple moved to Prineville in September of 1999.
Mrs. Bishop was a member of the Prineville Christian Church. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, fishing, camping, and animals.
She is survived by her husband Harvey Bishop of Prineville, sisters Enda Quimby of Portland, Ore., and Linda Nelson of Chiloquin, Ore.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bishop was preceded in death by her son Lee Elmer Anstine in 2002, parents and one brother.
