es "Jim" E. Sullivan of Crooked River Ranch, Ore., passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2004, at the age of 61.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21, and from 9 a.m until 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, at Weddle Funeral Home in Stayton. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2004, at Stayton Community Center, with interment at Lone Oak Cemetery in Stayton.
Jim was born on July 27, 1942 in Cottage Grove, Ore. He grew up in the Albany area and attended schools around there.
He was a member of the Tangent Volunteer Fire Department while he lived there. He moved to Brooks in 1970, to Gates in 1993, and after retiring in 2002, he moved to Crooked River Ranch.
Jim worked for Northwest Natural Gas for more than 38 years, mainly as a corrosion technician. He was a member of the school board in Brooks for 17 years, from 1968-2002, and was a member of the OPEIU #11 union serving as president the last 15 years. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge. Jim enjoyed being around his family and friends, bowling, and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene E. Carter, whom he married on Aug. 2, 2001; brother Alton Sullivan of Lebanon; sons Evan Sullivan of Brooks, Douglas Luckey of Portland, and Darrell Luckey of Mill City; daughters Merrie Martinez of Aumsville, Kimberly Plank of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Sheryl Eggert of Redmond; grandchildren Trina Eggert of Albany, Minn., Adam Luckey of Mill City, Britteny Martinez of Aumsville, Trevor Luckey of Mill City, Ashley Martinez of Aumsville, Andrew Sullivan of Brooks, and Aaron Sullivan of Brooks.
He was preceded in death by his parents Evan and Edna, and one grandson, Joshua.
There will be a potluck reception at the Stayton Community Center following the services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Redmond, or the Crooked River Ranch Fire Department.
