bertina Bueckert passed away Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at Pioneer Memorial Hospital from natural causes. She was 88 years old.
She was born in Emmen, Holland on Aug. 10, 1916, to Klaus and Lambertina (Houkes) Pijpstra. In 1946, she married Frank Bueckert in Arnhem, Holland, and immigrated to Canada. She moved to Prineville in 1952 and served her family as homemaker. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed her home, family and friends, traveling, square dancing, playing card games with friends, watching the backyard birds, opera, and classical music.
From 1973 to 1982, she worked as a clerk at Thriftwise Drug and Bank Drug.
She is survived by five children: daughters Tina (Van) Moore of Hermiston, Frances (Art) Morin of Prescott Valley, Ariz., Diana (Jim) Rice of Prineville, Marion Edwards of Prineville; son Les Bueckert of Bay City; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and extended family in Holland. She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and four sisters. As requested by Mrs. Bueckert, there will be no service. Instead, the family will have a tree planting in the spring.
