Miriam Helen Bussey

Miriam Helen Bussey passed away on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004, in Bend. She was 74.
   A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at First and Main in Prineville. Father Robert Greiner will officiate.
   Miriam was born on Jan. 18, 1930, to Michael and Helen Kobithen in Philadelphia, Pa.
   She married Donald Bussey on Oct. 18, 1952, in Philadelphia.
   Mrs. Bussey attended school in Philadelphia, and after graduation she worked in a grocery store for three years. She then went into a partnership with her sister, operating a deli sandwich shop until she was married and then moved to Prineville in 1953.
   She worked at J.C. Penney Co. from 1969-1971, and then worked at Les Schwab from 1972 to 1988 at the main office until her retirement.
   She then did some traveling with her husband.
   Her hobbies included knitting, camping, traveling, shopping, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
   She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Prineville and the Altar Society.
   Survivors include: her husband Donald of Prineville; daughter Laurie Robertson of Bend; sisters Beatrice Kobat of Philadelphia, Jo Anne Franklin of New Jersey, and Helene Williams of New York; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pioneer Memorial Hospice, 1201 NE Elm St., Prineville OR 97754. Whispering Pines Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
