Lene, as she was known to her family and friends, was born on September 16, 1924 in Elmira, Ore., to Ludwig and Freida (Bach) Seeman, who were both from Canada. She was the youngest of five children.
Shortly after her birth, Lene along with her family moved to Manhattan, Mont., where they owned a farm. When she was eight years old, her father was killed in a farming accident and the family had to move into town. Lene worked for families in their homes for her room and board until she completed high school. After high school, she worked briefly for the phone company and then for a bank. At this time she met and married the love of her life Robert (Bob) Jones and they moved to Idahna, Ore., where he ran a small sawmill. The family then moved to Bend in 1951. After her youngest child was in school, she worked as a bookkeeper during the school year. She continued to work for this same accounting firm until her retirement in 1988. Shortly after retirement, Bob suffered a stroke and Lene's time and attention was devoted to his care. She enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing, and camping, and spending time with family. She and Bob enjoyed travelling together in their healthy years.
Survivors include: her son Lee and his wife Lynn Jones, of Bend; daughter Cyndy and her husband Don Williams of Prineville; one brother Gordon Seeman of Manhattan, Montana; four grandchildren, Lauren Jones, Ryan Jones and Shawn Standiford of Eugene, and Cody and his wife, Diane Standiford of Fort Bragg, N.C. as well as three beloved great-grandchildren, Isaac, Wyatt, and Tucker. Her parents, three siblings, and her beloved Bob preceded her in death.
Arrangements are entrusted to Prineville Funeral Home.
