t Elton Smee passed away on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, at his home in Prineville, Ore.
He was 91 years old.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, at Juniper Haven Cemetery in Prineville. The Masonic Lodge #76 will officiate.
Bert was born on Sept. 9, 1913, to Wilson Robert and Maude Smee in Gandy, Neb. He married his first wife, June Smith, on Feb. 15, 1947, and married his second wife Bonnie Beckman on July 20, 2002.
He grew up in logging camps all over the mid west, including Nebraska, Wyoming, Colorado, and also Canada.
He worked for Caltran until his retirement in 1968. He then moved to Lebanon in 1968, where he became a realtor until he retired again in 2000 and moved to Prineville.
Bert was a member of the Masonic Lodge #76 AF and AM and American Legion #29 in Prineville.
His hobbies included coin collecting, hunting, fishing and working in his rose garden.
Survivors include: his wife Bonnie Smee of Prineville; son Will Smee of Miami, Fla.; daughter Karen Bee of Prineville; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister and his first wife, June (Smith) Smee in 2001.
