Betty Chloe Ledford
A graveside service will be held on Friday January 21, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Juniper Haven Cemetery in Prineville. Pastor Joe Meade will officiate.
Mrs. Ledford was born in High Rolls, New Mexico to Albert and Lucille (Corrigan) Weems on June 25, 1934. She lived there until the age of six, when the family moved to Winslow, Arizona. In 1947 the family moved to Mt. Vernon, Ore., with the Clyde Holliday Logging Company. They then moved to Spray, where she met her future husband William Sheirdan Ledford. They traveled to Goldendale, Wash., where they were married, September 29, 1950. She moved around Oregon with her young family to Kinzua and Fossil then lived briefly in Heppner and Baker City until they eventually settled in Prineville.
Betty's family remembers her for her love of watching her kids and grandkids play sports especially baseball. She is also remembered for her quilts and afghans she made. She will always be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a friend to all those that knew her.
Survivors include: her loving husband Sheirdan; son and daughter in law Tom and Marilyn Ledford of Powell Butte; son James Ledford and his companion April Weatherly and her daughters, Juanita and Jennifer; daughter and son in law Judy and Lonnie O'Daniel of Prineville, and son Ronald Ledford of Prineville. Her grandchildren: Bill Ledford, Rhonda Ledford, James and Stacey Ledford, Daniel Ledford, Duane and Crisha Ledford, Veronica and Byron Williams, and Willy O'Daniel, Scotty Ledford, Derek Ledford, and Kylea Ledford also survive her. There are also two great grand children that survive Betty: William and Katelyn Ledford.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Prineville Funeral Home.
