She was 82 years old. Visitation was held Monday, Dec. 11, and Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006 at Whispering Pines Funeral Home, 185 NE 4th Street Prineville, Oregon.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006 at Whispering Pines Funeral Home. Pastor Willard Fenderson officiated.
Eva was born June 14, 1924 to Walter and Mattie (Grady) Curtis in Foster, Oklahoma. Eva attended school in Oklahoma. She then married Richard Daugherty in 1944 in Reno, Nev., and became a mother. She worked for a short time in the lettuce sheds in Arizona and the Imperial Valley in California. Eva then moved to Florence, Ore., where she and her husband got into the logging business. Later they moved their business to Estacada, then to Warm Springs and then into Prineville, Ore., in 1976. In 1992 Eva married Soloman Serna in Reno, Nev. Eva's hobbies were crocheting, playing pinochle, bowling, fishing, and being with her family and grandchildren.
Eva is survived by: her daughter, Nita McCulloch of Prineville, Ore.; brother, Jay Curtis of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter-in-law, May Daugherty of Portland, Ore.; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one son and two husbands.
