y Katherine Kastberg passed away July 14, 2006 at the age of 84. Memorial services will be held Friday, July 21, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Soroptimist Senior Center. Pastor Gary Koutsopoulos will officiate.
Mary was born July 14, 1922 to John and Bessie (Harriman) McKinney in Medford, Ore. Mary graduated from Siuslaw High School. She was married shortly after high school and moved to La Comb, Ore., and became a homemaker for the remainder of her life. She then moved to Coquille, Oregon in 1956. In 1974 she moved to Fort Bragg, California. Mary then settled in Prineville, Ore., in 1984. In April 1974 Mary married Phillip Kastberg in Reno, Nev.
Mary's hobbies were flower gardening, working in the yard, quilting, taking money at the senior center, old time fiddlers, bowling, dancing, football games, horse races, and spending time with her family. She was also a member of the Soroptimist Senior Center, the Elks Club #1814, and the Eagles Club #2555, and Our Saviors Lutheran Church.
Mary is survived by: daughter Carol Ann and her husband Steve Clayburn of Coquille, Ore.; son, Richard Wayne Patton of Siletz, Oregon; sister, Ruth Patton of Lebanon, Ore.; stepsons Richard and his wife Jan Kastberg of Portland, Ore., Ronnie and wife Peggy Kastberg of Powell Butte, Ore., stepdaughter Rhonda and husband Bruce Crunican, also of Portland, Ore. Mary is also survived by three grandchildren four step grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband Phillip, one brother Stan McKinney and one stepson Robert Kastberg.
In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made to the Soroptimist Senior Center, 180 NE Belknap Street, Prineville, Oregon 97754.
