Senator Courtney files for re-election

by: OREGON SENATE - Sen. Peter CourtneySenate President Peter Courtney (D-Salem-GervaisWoodburn) filed paperwork Sept. 12 for his reelection bid to the Oregon Senate in District 11. He is seeking his record sixth term as Senate President and also is the longest-serving current member of the Oregon Legislature, according to a press release from his campaign office. Courtney has served in the legislature for a total of 29 years. If reelected, Courtney, 71, would seek to find a permanent fix for school funding, improve highway safety and tackle the problem of mental health, according to his press release.
