Heavy winds result in downed lines, trees throughout Portland area

Portland General Electric is reporting more than 17,000 customers without power across its service area due to storm-related activity.
Several downed trees and lines have resulted from heavy winds that are expected to last throughout the weekend.
Portland is the hardest hit area with 10,000 residents without power. The rest are scattered throughout the service area.
PGE advised people to stay away from downed lines.

To report an outage via a web-enabled smart phone or mobile device, customers now can visit PGE's mobile website at PortlandGeneral.com. Customers also can register to report outages and request updates by text message.
