Chamber Forum features talk on health care reform
- Woodburn Independent - News
Terri Merritt-Worden, Legislative Affairs Liaison for Silverton Health, will present Health Care Reform: What does it mean to you, your business and our community? at the monthly Woodburn Area Chamber Forum Lunch on Wednesday at the Woodburn Health Center.
During the three years since the passage of the Affordable Care Act, health care organizations have changed their focus from curing your specific sickness to promoting their patients overall health. They have formed cooperatives among health care providers such as hospitals and physicians to better coordinate care among all practitioners. Signups for individual coverage under the act began Oct. 1, and consumers and businesses have many questions about how this will affect them. Merritt-Worden will address these issues.
The Forum Lunch is open to the public as well as chamber members. The cost for the lunch is $10. RSVP in advance to the chamber office at 503-982-8221.
