On Saturday, the Hubbard Police Department, in collaboration with the Community Action Drug Prevention Network, DEA and other various Marion County agencies, will be conducting a Prescription Drug Turn-In at the Hubbard Police Department.
This drive-up turn-in event will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in front of the Hubbard Police Department at 3720 Second St. in Hubbard.
Citizens are encouraged to bring in their expired or unwanted prescription medications, over-the-counter medicines and other various drugs that are no longer used.
Items not allowed are thermometers, needles, syringes, medical waste of any type, bathroom products or hazardous material.
The turn-in event is intended to fight drug abuse in teens that could potentially have access to old, expired or unused prescriptions. The event also provides disposal options to avoid flushing drugs into the waterways where they can be harmful to the environment.
