The Marion County RSVP has been sponsored by the city of Woodburn since 1973. RSVP now has more than 50 placement sites throughout the county.

Dial-A-Ride Program – On-going recruitment. Are you interested in becoming a Dial-A-Ride driver? The city of Woodburn could use your help in transporting individuals to medical appointments as far north as Portland and south to Salem. There is a mileage reimbursement program for individuals who are part of this program. Contact Dial-A-Ride at 503-982-5388 to learn more and to start volunteering.

Northwest Senior & Disability Services — Drivers for Meals on Wheels are needed Monday through Friday and assistance is also needed in preparing and packing the meals from 9 a.m. to noon at First Presbyterian Church, 950 N. Boones Ferry Road, Woodburn. Contact Beth at 503-981-3470. Volunteers are needed at the NWSDS Woodburn office, 1320 Meridian Drive, for basic office work of answering phones, greeting clients, making copies, sending faxes or filing. Needed hours are mornings Monday through Friday, but times are flexible. Contact the office at 503-304-3420.

Country Meadows Courtside — Opportunities to lead exercise class with residents, assist with baking or crafts classes, lead a weekly bingo game for residents, assist residents in weekly pinochle games and more. Times are Tuesday through Friday with classes at 10 a.m. and games at 1 or 1:30 p.m. Call 971-983-1424.

Salvation Army-Kroc Center Red Kettle Campaign — Assistance is needed in Woodburn at different locations. Donate a two-hour shift as a “bell ringer” and all the donations stay in Woodburn. Contact Caroline at 503-798-4783.

Habitat for Humanity, Mount Angel — Stocking shelves, dusting, cleaning, loading small items. There is also a need for bilingual assistance for the application process. There is a holiday recognition day that will need some planning volunteers. They would love to have individuals be a part of their committees. Contact LouJean at 503-845-2164.

Gordon House Conservancy — 869 W. Main, Silverton. The Conservancy is looking for tour guides, help with the garden, help to catalogue records, assistance with the museum library or help with special events. Days/hours are flexible.
