Bulldog boys continue league dominance

With a pair of victories last week against Crescent Valley and West?Albany, the Woodburn boys soccer team clinched its fourth straight Mid-Willamette Conference title.

Two of the team’s top players - senior Michael Hobson and freshman Anthony Santillan - were unavailable for Woodburn's Oct. 22 game at Crescent Valley due to previous commitments, but the Bulldogs cruised to a 7-2 victory behind a pair of goals each from Conner Karsseboom and Jesse Martin.

Andrew Almanzar and Kevin Vasquez rounded out the Woodburn scoring. An own goal by the Raiders accounted for the final score.

On Thursday, the team returned home to blank the West Albany Rebels 4-0.

Woodburn (10-1-2, 6-0) was scheduled to play at Corvallis Tuesday to finish the regular season before awaiting to see the playoff schedule next week.
