Craig Realty Group has made a $25,000 donation in the memory of the late Richard Jennings to his most-beloved charity, Woodburn Proud Inc.
According to a Craig Realty Group press release, Jennings, who once served as mayor of Woodburn, was a long-time supporter of Craig Realty Groups Woodburn Company Stores, sold from the CRG portfolio earlier this year.
His civic dedication and take-charge spirit were huge contributing factors to the success of Woodburn Company Stores, remarked Steve Craig, president of Craig Realty Group. His support and dedication for our center, as well as that of the city of Woodburn over the past 15 years, has meant the world to us. He will be sorely missed.
Understanding Dicks passion for the City of Woodburn and, more specifically, for the youth in the greater Woodburn area, Craig Realty Group has requested that the funds be directed to the Woodburn Teen Center, which houses the Woodburn Boys &?Girls Club.
As an extension of the Richard Jennings Skate Park, we believe the teen center is the appropriate recipient of these funds, said Craig. It is our hope that these funds will further memorialize Dicks vision in the continuing effort of improving the future opportunities for the youth of Woodburn.
The donation was accepted in person by Lorrayne Jennings and her granddaughter Marnie Grimmell on Sept. 28 in Newport Beach, Calif. Mrs. Jennings was scheduled to present the check to the Woodburn City Council at its meeting Monday night.
Dick Jennings was the mayor of Woodburn from 1998-2002, and served the community of Woodburn in various capacities including city council, planning commission and budget committee for over 20 years.
