Three teens injured in two-vehicle accident

Three teen-age girls were seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident Friday night in Lake Oswego.

According to the Lake Oswego Police Department, at approximately 9:45 p.m., a Jeep with three teen-age girls collided with a Mercedes containing a father, son, and a friend of the son.

After an initial investigation, it appears that the Jeep was on the wrong side of the road when the accident occurred on Kerr Parkway at Lower McNary Parkway. At this time, there is no evidence that alcohol or drugs were a part of the crash.

Due to the damage to the Jeep, Lake Oswego Fire Department personnel had to extricate the driver of the vehicle with the teens. All three girls, Madison Focht (driver), 16; Madison Owens, 16; and Katie Brauti, 17; were transported to area hospitals with serious injuries.

The son's friend in the Mercedes was taken to an area hospital where he was treated and released.

Police are still investigating the incident with the assistance of the Clackamas County Criminal Reconstruction and Forensic Team (CRAFT).
