M. Dannette (Strubhar) Sundermeier

Dannette “Danny” Sundermeier, 85, a resident of Woodburn, passed away on Nov. 14, 2013.

She was born on June 24, 1928 in Flint, Mich., to William and Stella Peek. by: SUBMITTED - Danny Sundermeier

Danny attended the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester in Rochester, N.Y. She majored in French horn and piano. In Flint, she played French horn in the concert orchestra.

In 1954, Danny married Fred Strubhar of Hubbard. She taught piano lessons for many years both out of her home and at the local elementary school. Danny worked for the Callahan Center in Wilsonville as a legal transcriber, the county of Clackamas and the DMV. After the death of her first husband, she met a wonderful man and married “Bud” Herman Sundermeier in 1995. They resided in both Gaston and Woodburn. Danny enjoyed music, family and traveling.

Danny is survived by her husband “Bud” Herman Sundermeier; two daughters, Lorna Nelson (Vic) and Holly Peters (Paul); three grandchildren Amy Delmore (David), Brice Peters (Cassandra) and Kolby Peters; and one great-granddaughter Annabelle Peters.

The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to Hoodview Church of God in Woodburn.

A memorial service will be held at Hoodview Church of God in Woodburn on Nov. 22 at 11 a.m.
