Two arrested on suspicion of multiple bank robberies

Following a multi-agency investigation, two men were arrested and booked into the Multnomah County Jail on suspicion of robbing multiple banks in the Portland Metro area.
On Nov. 16-17, multiple banks were robbed in and around Portland by a male suspect wielding a demand note. On Tuesday, Nov. 26, detectives were conducting further investigation when two suspects committed a bank robbery in the presence of the investigators. The suspects attempted to escape capture but were taken into custody by detectives. The robbery was inside the Fred Meyer store, located a 22855 Northeast Park Lane in Wood Village.
The two men arrested were 29-year-old Ryan Joseph Beisley and 20-year-old Travis David Johnson, both of whom were arrested and booked into the Multnomah County Jail on a US Marshals Hold. Formal Federal Bank Robbery charges are pending.
Investigators with the Portland Police Bureau, Gresham Police Department, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Scappoose Police Department, and the Washington County Sheriff's Office worked together to share information and develop possible suspects.
