Police have arrested a man in connection to the Nov. 1 armed robbery at Crossroads Deli in Woodburn.

Richard Dale Young, 53, was arrested by Woodburn Police on Wednesday, after detectives served search warrants for Young, his vehicle and his SUBMITTED - Richard Young

Detectives also found a modified novelty grenade at Young's residence. Oregon State Police Bomb Squad assisted with the safe disposal of the device, but detectives have referred a charge of unlawful possession of a destructive device to the Marion County District Attorney's office.

Young's other charges, for which he was arrested and lodged at Marion County Jail, include robbery 1, unlawful use of a weapon, menacing and unlawful possession of a firearm.

On Nov. 1, Young allegedly went into Crossroads Deli, located on Highway 99E in Woodburn, pointed a handgun at the clerk and removed money from the cash register, all while being taped by surveillance video.
