Boys and Girls Club of Woodburn — Woodburn is seeking community volunteers to serve on their advisory board, be involved with the Woodburn club and assist with fundraising, activities and more. The advisory board meets once a month on the third Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the Woodburn City Council Chambers. City of Woodburn — The City is looking for volunteers to serve as a board/committee member for the Recreation and Parks and Library boards. The Library Board meets on the second Wednesday in January, April, July and October in the Council Chambers and the Parks Board meets the second Tuesday of each month also in the Council Chambers. Woodburn Historical Museum — Volunteers are needed to help with cataloguing, scanning, documenting and providing tours. Contact Donna at 503-982-5263.

SMART readers — Nellie Muir and/or Lincoln Elementary in the Woodburn School District. Be a reader with K to third-grade students and help improve their reading skills. Program times vary depending on the school. Volunteers needed one to two hours per week. Contact Marta at 503-982-5388.

Meals on Wheels (NW Senior & Disabilities) — Drivers are needed for the Meals-on-Wheels program Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to noon, at the Presbyterian Church, 950 N. Boones Ferry Road. Contact Beth at 503-981-3470.

Salvation Army-Kroc Center Red Kettle Campaign — Give the Gift of Time — Assistance is needed in Woodburn at different locations to support the community. By donating a two-hour shift at one of the locations you can support local social service efforts by raising money as a “bell ringer” and all the donations stay in Woodburn. Mount Angel

Habitat for Humanity —Stocking shelves, dusting, cleaning, loading small items. There is also a need for bilingual assistance for the application process. There is a holiday recognition day that will need some planning volunteers. They would love to have individuals be a part of their committees. Contact LouJean 503-845-2164.


“Celebrate Families” Holiday Festival — Silverton Together is hosting an event for families on Saturday at the Community Center from 1-4 p.m. They are in need of volunteers to assist individuals and families with crafts, goodie bags, Santa helpers, refreshments and greeting individuals and families who will be a part of the event. Turkey Drive for SACA (Silverton Area Community Aid) — Donate a turkey for the Turkey Drive at Mac’s Place, 201 N. Water St., on Saturday all day. You can also donate other side items. There will be music by Fruition String Band beginning at 9 p.m. Volunteers are needed to greet and take in the donations. Contact Teresa at 503-873-3446.

Coats for Kids Drive (Silverton Together) — With winter already upon us, there are still many children and adults who do not have weather appropriate clothing. You can volunteer by donating any new or “gently used” coat, hat, shoes, mittens and scarves, or you can assist staff with sorting of the materials at Silverton City Hall, 421 S.
