Wurstfest is descending upon Mount Angel once again!
The annual festival that that celebrates all things German sausage-related will be hosted at the Mount Angel Festhalle at the end of the month, with festivities beginning Feb. 28 at 11 a.m.
The two-day event features a variety of fun activities and events that showcase German food, music, dance, costumes and much more.
Sausage-makers from the surrounding countryside will offer 15 varities of authentic German sausages that will be served alongside baked goods, cheeses, chocolates, roasted nuts, the famous Monastery Mustard and of course, a German-sized offering of beer and wine.
Activites for children include the Kindergarten corner, with arts and crafts, soap carving, face-painting and balloons.
Athletes and fitness buffs of all ages are welcome to participate in the Wurst 5K Run and Walk on March 1 that winds through the streets and country surrounding Mount Angel.
Later in the evening, the German celebration of Fasching will bring out the lederhosen and Bavarian dirndl, with prizes going to those who bring the best costumes.
And throughout the celebration, Wurstfest features non-stop music and local dancing troupes performing from morning until evening.
