Four people, including the driver and three passengers, died in a fiery single-vehicle crash early this morning near Dodge Park along the Sandy River.

The crash happened at about 2:28 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Southeast Lusted Road and Hudson Road, which is about four miles north of Sandy.
A person who lives near the crash called 9-1-1 to report a vhicle had collided with a tree and the vehicle was on fire.
According to the release, the citizen quickly helped one of the passengers in the back seat out of the vehicle before the vehicle and the remaining occupants were engulfed in flames. The occupants of the vehicle died before the arrival of first responders.
The injured passenger was flown to a Portland area hospital by LifeFlight. That passenger died later as a result of his injuries.
A small dog escaped from the the wreckage and was found by a bystander. It had received burns and was taken to an emergency veterinary hospital for treatment. It's medical condition is unknown.
A reading of the dog's microchip provided information about its registered owner, which is being used to possibly identify at least one of the vehicle's occupants.
The Clackamas County Medical Examiner's Office and sheriff's deputies are still working to identify the victims of the crash.
The intersection of Lusted Road and Hudson Road will remain closed until the deputies and the medical examiner have completed the investigation.
