Cirque du Cycling

It's part family cycling event, street fair and circus fun, and Cirque du Cycling takes place from 1:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 12 on North Mississippi Avenue.

It's presented by Laughing Planet Cafe (which has three locations, including 3765 N. Mississippi Ave.) and benefits Albina Youth Opportunity School.

The day's events include the three-mile Grand Central Family Ride, the Lompoc Beer Garden, the Art Bike Parade and a criterium race.

Gorge Ride

The fourth annual event is June 12, put on by Friends of the Historic Columbia River Highway. It's 38 1/2 miles along the Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail from Mosier to Hood River and back.

Mountain biking

Mt. Hood Skibowl hosts mountain bike races, 'Fluidride,' on four weekends, starting June 25-27. Other weekends are July 9-11, Sept. 9-12 and Sept. 24-26.
