It’s never too early to plan for summer concerts. The Oregon Zoo has a season-long series, and Portland Parks and Recreation has lined up its schedule for the Washington Park Summer Festival, Aug. 5-14. Music will range from world beat to classical, and other acts will also be highlighted at the Washington Park Amphitheater. The festival is part of parks and rec’s “Summer Free for All,” featuring free movies and concerts in neighborhoods from late June through early September. Panuccio and others • Aug. 7 — “Jazz Women,” with the Quadraphones and others • Aug. 8 — Portland Festival Symphony, with Maestro Lajos Balogh • Aug. 9 — Ty Curtis Band, with guitarist Ty Curtis and harmonica player Hank Shreve • Aug. 10 — Carrie Cunningham and the Six Shooters, with magnetic Carrie Cunningham • Aug. 11 — Apple Jam, a Seattle band playing non-recorded Beatles songs • Aug. 12 — Loveness Wesa, Kgotso African Dance and the Bantus Band, with southern African flavor • Aug. 13 — Do Jump!, with Portland’s acrobatic troupe • Aug. 14 — “Felicidades,” with salsa and calypso and other music — Jason Vondersmith
