Sketchers unite! The first International Sketching Symposium is planned in Portland, Thursday through Saturday, July 29 to 31.
Events are full through registration for the symposium, but the general public - sketchers, that is - are invited to take part in the 28th World Wide SketchCrawl, Saturday, July 31. It's designed as a 'marathon' of sketching of urban environment by artists around the world.

Urban Sketchers has about 3,000 members worldwide, in 50 countries and they post their drawings at www.urbansketchers.com.
All International Sketching Symposium activities will be held at the Pacific Northwest College of Art, 1241 N.W. Johnson St. It's a collaboration with Moleskine and Urban Sketchers.
Several artists will be involved in lectures, exhibitions and panels, including Portland's Kurt Hollomon.
