Lavish Boutique hopes for perfect fit in their move to West Linn Central Village
After more than a year at Bridgeport Village, the women behind The Lingerie Closet have changed their shop's name to Lavish Boutique and moved to West Linn.
The boutique opened its doors in West Linn Central Village on Willamette Drive in February.
The location change was about going 'back to what we love the most,' said co-owner Lorri Bartlett: 'being a part of a community and having a warm, comfortable 'boutique' atmosphere where we can get to know our customers and be involved in the community.'
Bartlett and co-owner Ann Smith have been in business together for years. They started with a hair salon in Gresham that they still operate together; their lingerie endeavor began about four and a half years ago next to the salon. They eventually moved the shop to Bridgeport Village, where they spent a little over a year.
But the new West Linn location, which used to house now-defunct Via Lago, feels a lot more like home, they said. It even has a fireplace.
'It kept us close to our customer base without going too far,' Smith said.
Added Bartlett: 'We like the small community.'
The new name more accurately reflects the store, which carries much more than undergarments, Bartlett said.
The shop has always offered a wide array of items, from fancy, decorated wine and martini glasses to jewelry, to cards, to lotions and candles. There are also pajamas and, of course, lingerie.
One customer favorite is the brand Foxers, which blends feminine boy shorts with a boxer-short waistband. They're comfortable, Bartlett said, and useful: A woman sporting low-rise pants will reveal the patterned waistband before risking exposure of her behind.
Regular lines on hand include Cosabella, Claire Pettibone, P.J. Salvage and Hanky Panky.
Bartlett said the shop also carries 'out of the ordinary' intimate accessories like DIMRS - a product designed to conceal a lady's 'headlights' - as well as shapewear from Sassybax and Spanx. Bartlett and Smith are expanding the selection of some of those products.
They're also enlarging their collection of loungewear and outerwear, and they'll soon carry flip-flops. T-shirts, leggings and scarves, too.
Lavish's offerings also include Oregon-made eco-friendly products from Yala, formerly DreamSacks, a company that makes clothing from bamboo.
The boutique even has a small selection of silk boxer shorts for men.
