Police arrest three for attempted murder

Three men are behind bars on allegations of attempted murder related to a stabbing last October.
They are accused of assaulting a rival gang member in an apartment in the 17800 block of East Burnside Street on Oct. 22, said Officer John Rasmussen, Gresham police spokesman.
During the assault, the victim - a 24-year-old Gresham man - was stabbed multiple times. He recovered from his injuries.
This month, between March 4 and 11, Police arrested Ernesto Alexander Romero, 25, of Sandy; Julio Tapia, 19, of Southwest Portland; and Enrique Gabrial Vallejo, 18, of Gresham.
All face accusations of attempted murder, first-degree assault and burglary; each is being held on $550,000 bail. Tapia also faces an accusation of second-degree assault, boosting his bail to $800,000.
