City reopens subsidy program for ecoroofs
Applications start in April
The city of Portland will reopen its incentive program that subsidizes the development of ecoroofs.
Ecoroofs help keep stormwater out of the sewer system and filter pollutants. They also provide wildlife habitat, improve air quality and reduce the urban heat-island effect.
To quality for the incentives, applicants must submit buildable projects within the city limits, and must start construction within two years of approval.
The Portland Bureau of Environmental Services will begin accepting applications for the next incentive cycle in April.
