Recently I received an honor from the South Columbia Chamber of Commerce. This honor was largely based on my volunteer work in the community, more specifically the Scappoose Farmers' Market.
I received it as a representative community volunteer because there are many volunteers and others who would like to volunteer.
On May 21 we will begin out ninth season as a farmers' market. On March 19 we will hold a public open house at the Scappoose Public Library meeting room between 10 a.m. and noon for anyone interested in becoming a vendor or a volunteer.
This is a great opportunity if you have wanted to volunteer. You not only get to meet the great people that come to the market but use a variety of skills.
Yes, even computer skills are needed.
So if this is something that interests you, go to our website at www.scappoosefarmersmarket.com for more information or contact me directly, Bill Blank, Market Manager, 503-543-3469.
