Transportation exhibit at historical society
The Gresham Historical Society will launch its new exhibit, 'Transportation - Come Along for the Ride,' with an opening event from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at the museum, 410 N. Main Ave.
Weather permitting, the opening event will feature antique fire trucks and cars and an antique airplane flyover by the Troutdale Airport.
The exhibit will feature historical artifacts of modes of transportation, including a very rare wooden bicycle, circa 1900, on loan from the Sandy Historical Society. The exhibit will run for the rest of the year during museum open hours. Call the museum at 503-661-0347 for information.
VFW raises funds for veterans
The Ladies Auxiliary to the Gresham United Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 180 is raising funds to help support its programs and local veterans with a benefit at the Original Roadhouse Grill, 2370 S.E. Burnside Road, on Tuesday, March 29.
Patrons who stop by the restaurant from 11 a.m. to closing and present an event flyer to their server can have 20 percent of their purchase donated to the Auxiliary Relief Fund. To print an event flyer, visit vfwaux180.us and click on 'calendar of events.'

Energy Trust hosts free home energy workshops
The Energy Trust of Oregon is offering free workshops designed to inform ratepayers about ways to reduce utility bills and tap renewable energy resources.
The workshops will be part of the Better Living Home, Garden and Lifestyle Show at the Portland Expo Center, March 26-27.
The one-hour workshops will be held twice a day at noon and at 1 p.m. on both days of the show. Admission to the show and the workshops are free; registration is not required.
An Energy Trust expert will cover practical ideas any homeowner or renter can try right away, along with energy-saving strategies. Attendees also can learn about cash incentives and state and federal tax credits for energy efficiency improvements.
Energy advisers also will be on site each day to offer personalized guidance and hands-on exhibits to showcase the latest energy-saving strategies.

Artists invited to Estacada Summer Celebration
The Estacada Summer Celebration is hosting its annual Art Fair on Saturday, July 23, and invites local and regional artists to apply for booths to showcase their work.
The Estacada Summer Celebration will provide a 10-by-10 foot space on Broadway Street between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. during the fair. The booth fee is $45, and artists must submit an application form by Friday, April 8. Artists will be notified of their acceptance into the fair on May 8.
